Frequently Asked Questions

Learn Spanish In is an educational tour operator (also known as an agency) providing a booking service for Spanish courses in Spain and Latin America.

Our offices are based in Shanklin, Isle of Wight and Granada, Spain.

Launched in 2020, Learn Spanish In builds on thirty years of teaching experience and success in promoting English courses to students from Spain and South America. We:

  • Began our search for quality schools in exciting locations in 2016.
  • Have visited over 60 schools in Spain and 20 schools in Latin America to select the best for you.
  • Don’t believe in promoting destinations and schools that we haven’t experienced ourselves.
  • Only choose schools that provide high quality academic courses, culturally authentic activity programmes and a range of comfortable accommodation options.

Our portfolio of schools is constantly reviewed, based on student feedback, field visits, school conferences and trusted referrals.

  • All of schools are recognized by professional accreditation organisations.

Our aim is to provide our clients with impartial advice on a range of high quality options. Of course, if there is a discount available, we’ll let you know.

Yes of course!  You aren’t the only one! Our schools offer Spanish courses from beginner to advance level. Usually, six or seven levels are offered in each school.

Our clients pay the school directly. Most schools offer an online payment portal where your currency is converted to the currency required by the school at a better rate than most bank transfers. Alternatively, you can pay by international bank transfer or credit card.

You can secure your course place and accommodation reservation by either paying a deposit or the full amount. Payments are made directly to the school and you will be sent a receipt after each transaction is completed.

Full fees (100%) of all invoiced costs need to be paid to the school 4 weeks before the course starts. For bookings completed within four weeks of the start date, full fees need to be paid once the invoice has been received by the client.

Absolutely nothing! We do not charge any extra for our expertise, our time communicating with you nor for the administration of your booking. You pay the same published prices as the school or even less if you take advantage of our special offers.

Most people now book their flights online and avoid the reservation costs charged by a travel agent or tour operator. We do not book your flights but we can advise you on the best flight to reserve. We can also recommend a travel agent if you prefer.

We strongly advise all our clients to be covered by a comprehensive travel insurance. Some Spanish schools offer insurance as an optional extra. Learn Spanish In recommends Guard Me travel insurance. In this case it is the client who books the insurance directly with Guard Me. You should also go with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) if travelling to Spain.

Yes. You can express your needs on our enrolment form. There is a supplement to be paid for some special diets.

Of course, whatever your need and preference, we will make sure we match the right homestay to your needs. Again, it needs to be stated on our enrolment form.

Yes, nearly all our schools offer homestays with the option of a shared bathroom (standard) or private/ ensuite bathroom with a supplement to pay. Residences also offer this option.

If you are unsure of your level, a short chat in Spanish helps us to gauge your level. Furthermore, we may ask you to complete a pre course test. Learn Spanish In will arrange this for you. The second part of the test would be done on your first day at the school. You would then be assigned a class appropriate to your level.

General Spanish courses are available throughout the year for all levels, from beginner to advance level students. More specialized courses such as 50+ or Spanish with Cooking have a number of starting dates throughout the year.
